Me Club provides world-class academic tuition and core skills development for pupils aged 6 – 12 in a beautiful London school location.
Academic classes are held in the morning, whilst the focus in the afternoon the shifts towards character development and cultural immersion through a series of fun-filled workshops and trips to London’s many amazing attractions.
One or two week programmes operate during half terms and the Easter and summer holidays in Central London.
We run two separate holiday school programmes that run each week in London.
English Learners is suitable for pupils coming to London to improve their English. English Speakers is suitable for UK and internationally-based pupils who require world class entrance exam tuition for the UK’s top independent schools.
Both holiday school programmes feature morning lessons and afternoon workshops and activities.
For the juniors and the seniors, we offer morning sessions that cover basic to advanced English language instruction, taught a selection of the UK’s best language instructors. We offer classes that are suitable for beginner, intermediate, and advanced pupils.
We offer morning sessions that focus on the core academic skills that are important for the 11+ exams that many of the children will be moving towards. This includes maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning and interview practice. However, these skills are taught in the classroom and also through a variety of engaging games and activities, which we have always found leads to better results.
We run workshops on oration, leadership, public speaking, teamwork and communication, and British and global etiquette and manners, with an emphasis on improving students’ life skills, confidence and self-motivation.
Our favourite workshop is the Shakespeare workshop, which goes hand-in-hand with our guided tour of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, on London’s Southbank. This involves vocal exercises, warm-up games and reading through a script with a Shakespearean actor – who also conducts the tour.
The afternoon trips are often the highlight for the pupils, as we visit some of London’s most exciting cultural attractions. As well as the Globe, these can include fun, interactive tours of the Science Museum, British Museum and Natural History Museum, any number of world-class art galleries, and Greenwich Meantime and the Royal Observatory, among others.
Each trip is carefully thought out and designed to support the academic training the pupils receive in the morning – ensuring that afternoon sessions act as ‘immersive learning’ rather than just ‘a break from lessons’.
Our morning classes are in a school in the beautiful area of Ravenscourt Park. A great location with good access to the tube and bus routes.
At the end of each week at Me Club, we send parents a detailed report of their child’s progress and development with us. The reports will highlight academic strengths and weaknesses as well as making note of how they have responded to the character development workshops and their performance socially throughout the week.
Younger pupils also create a daily photo diary, documenting everything they are doing, and will be presented to parents at the end of the week after Friday’s prizegiving ceremony.
